Note (please) Uncle Sam's use of a curse word in this panel from a 1933 edition of the New York Times (now defunct). The word was not caught before publication because the paper had recently laid off most of its editing staff due to the horrible Depression economy. Franklin Draelin Roosevelt is here represented by someone who looks like him but has a mustache.
